Time: 13:00 - 14:00

This event is part of a series of lectures and workshops forming a Drug Discovery and Development course offered by the Department of Chemistry.

In this first of two sessions, Professor Robert Glen will outline the drug discovery process, describing how a successful drug candidate is not only biologically active but is also therapeutically effective in the clinic, with the correct pharmacokinetics and lack of toxicity. He will highlight how medicinal chemists therefore work at the centre of a web of disciplines – biology, pharmacology, molecular biology, toxicology, materials science, intellectual property and medicine.
