Cambridge Academy of Therapeutic Sciences

Applications are invited to apply for internal funds, awarded to the University of Cambridge by the Wellcome Trust, through an Institutional Translational Partnership Award (ITPA). The funds are to support early translational research and to encourage academics to make the initial steps in taking basic science through to biomedical application and patient benefit.

The Enabling Technologies awards will allow the applicant to procure CRO services, consumables and/ or synthesis of compounds. The awards will enable the applicant to develop the evidence of the feasibility (or otherwise) of their translational plans, strengthening their chances of obtaining downstream funding.

It will be important to describe the clinical need, in terms of disease burden and target population, together with the effectiveness and limitations of current approaches.

It is envisaged that the fund will support projects up to a maximum of £14,000 and results will be delivered within 6 months of the award, with projects ready to start when awarded funding.

Proposals must be led by a Principal Investigator at the University of Cambridge.

Fully completed applications need to be sent to Dr Cathy Boucher. Please contact  Dr Cathy Boucher for an application form.
