Date: 02 June 2017
Time: 13:30 - 16:00
Venue: Unilever Lecture Theatre, Departmenrt of Chemistry, University of Cambridge, CB2 1EW
This event is part of a series of lectures and workshops forming a Drug Discovery and Development course offered by the Department of Chemistry.
Featuring two complementary lectures on process chemistry from GSK and Syngenta, this session will highlight experiences and challenges gathered over many years of experience.
Dr Sabine Fenner will present a recent case study on the process development carried out on a GSK drug molecule and demonstrate the tools and approaches employed as the control strategy evolved.
Dr George Hodges from Syngenta will talk through the development of a fundamental understanding of a reaction from both a chemical and engineering point of view. He will show how this can be used to influence lab scale reactions in ways usually ignored as well as being crucial when scaling-up a reaction.
