Innovate UK and the Research Councils are seeking input from scientists and businesses over the roll out of a £4.7BN cross-disciplinary fund. This will support industry-led programmes of activity aiming to deliver economic impact, jobs and growth. Workshops have been taking place across the country with delegates from the research base and industry invited to contribute their views on priority areas, breadth and depth of individual challenges, and ensuring long-term impact. Leading-edge healthcare and medicine is listed amongst early suggestions for potential challenge areas.

The announcement of the fund forms part of the Government’s Green Paper Building Our Industrial Strategy and the full consultation is open until 17 April 2017.
