Healthcare is one of the key application areas for the Department of Computer Science and Technology’s research, whether it is developing mobile and wearable health monitors, or advancing the use of machine learning to improve the diagnosis of cancers. Sessions will include: How recordings of people coughing and breathing are being used to train computer models to recognise the sounds of COVID-19; Predicting outcomes for psychotic disorders, using brain connectivity and transcribed speech data; Designing a Robot Mindfulness Coach; Cancer AI - including developing AI techniques to integrate multi-modal cancer data to achieve better diagnosis and treatment for patients.
