Finances and funding

Students enrolled on the programme must have funds available to pay fees and maintenance costs (please refer to the Finance section of the Postgraduate Admission Office).
There are currently no specific funding opportunities being advertised for the MPhil in Therapeutic Sciences. There are various scholarships and funding streams available via the University, see the overview below. If you wish to apply to these funding streams, please ensure that you review the relevant websites to note the eligibility criteria and application deadlines.
Cambridge Trust Master's Studentships
Each year, the Cambridge Trust offers a number of Cambridge Master's Studentships to enable the top-scoring applicants for one-year postgraduate study to benefit from part-cost awards. These are of a variable amount, but typically of £12,000 each towards their studies.

Cambridge Opportunity Studentships and Get In Cambridge Studentships
Cambridge Opportunity Studentships are for Master's students from low-income households with experience of educational disadvantage who are set at the Home rate for fees.
Get In Cambridge Studentships follow the same criteria and are reserved to address under-representation of students from Black, British Bangladeshi or British Pakistani backgrounds.

Mastercard Foundation Scholars Programme
The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Programme at the University of Cambridge enables talented young Africans to pursue a master's degree and grow their leadership potential. More than fully-funded scholarship, it's a life-changing experience that helps people fulfil their academic potential and lays the foundations for a rewarding, meaningful career. Applications are welcome from candidates from across Africa with women, refugees, internally displaced persons, and people with disabilities particularly encouraged to apply.

Gates Cambridge
Gates Cambridge provides international scholarships at the University for Cambridge for applicants who would like to change the world for the better.
Each year Gates Cambridge offers around 80 full-cost scholarships to outstanding applicants from countries outside the UK to pursue a postgraduate degree in any subject available at the University of Cambridge. Approximately two-thirds of these awards will be offered to PhD students, with approximately 25 awards available in the US round and 55 available in the International round.

School of Biological Sciences Master's Bursary Award
Applicants to taught MPhil courses based in the School of Biological Sciences, who have received a conditional offer of admission to start in October, are eligible to apply for a School of Biological Sciences Master’s Bursary Award. Find out more about the award.

Please note that the application deadline for most funding schemes can be much earlier than the application deadline for the course.
